Photography Workshop/Walk at Orris Falls

Saturday, May 7, 8 - 11 am

Hone your photography skills, learn tips and techniques about landscape photography from local photographers Tom Gilmore and Ray Levesque of Sanford Art Association. Tom and Ray will lead photographers through the diverse landscapes of Orris Falls, revealing historical foundations, the beaver wetland and Orris Falls. Please bring along a digital SLR camera and a tripod if you have one. This workshop is limited to 15 participants. Meet at the Thurrell Raod entrance in South Berwick.

Orris Falls Conservation Area

Thurrel Road, South Berwick

Enjoy an engaging wildflower ID walk with horticulture expert Hannah Ward and botany enthusiast, Brenna, Outreach Coordinator for Great works. Hannah and Brenna will lead hikers through this extensive property highlighting wildflowers along the way. Bring bug spray and or bug nets, as this area in spring can be very buggy. This is a easy/moderate level walk, distances traveled will be close to two miles, however moving at a slower pace to stop and observe flowers!

Join us for the trail dedication and opening of Keay Brook Preserve, part of the Salmon Falls River Conservation Area. This beautiful 86 acres on the Salmon Falls River in Berwick was once approved for a 13-lot development. The purchase by GWRLT was funded by the Maine Natural Resources Conservation Program. Join us for a welcome and walk to follow.

The dedication will honor Dr. Michele L. Dionne and Michael D. Wright, in appreciation of their commitment to the science and conservation of Southern York County and the Gulf of Maine.

Join Great Works Regional Land Trust for a volunteer trail work day on our Kimball Farm North Preserve with Stewardship Coordinator, Darrel Detour. Volunteers will participate in trail work.

Kimball Farm North Preserve is off of Berwick/Bennet Lot Road, just over the line from Cape Neddick in South Berwick. It is next door to Hilton-Winn Farm. Email or call for more specific directions and parking information.
