"I love to give gift memberships as presents and as welcome gifts because they are a wonderful way to introduce people to our community and to Great Works Regional land Trust. Of course, these memberships also support Great Works and offer opportunities to these new members to get involved"

The end of the year is approaching but there is still plenty of time to donate to your favorite causes. We hope you appreciate Great Works enough to move it to the top of your list. Over the years we have worked to conserve over 5,000 acres in our six communities, protecting scenic values, farmland and vital watersheds, and creating recreational opportunities.
Your gift now will help:
Donation of securities such as stocks or bonds can be made with the assistance of the Land Trust's Development Coordinator. Gifts of appreciated securities benefit the donor in two ways: the full-market value of the securities is tax-deductible, and if the securities have appreciated in value, capital gains taxation can be avoided.
Property can be costly to maintain and difficult to sell and, if it has appreciated, its sale can result in significant capital gains taxes. A gift of land to the Land Trust provides the donor with a charitable deduction for the full value of the property and removes the land from the donor's taxable estate.
CLYNK for Land! over $1,000 has been raised for land conservation since summer of 2010.
GWRLT has a CLYNK account, so members and friends can easily donate returnable bottles and cans in support of land conservation. We started this program in support of the Deb-tone Farm project and are continuing it to support the work of Great Works. Contact us at 207-646-3604 to find out more.
Planned giving includes charitable gifts such as bequests, trusts, and gifts of retirement benefits, which allow you to leave a legacy that continues far beyond your lifetime.
